Today we're going to look at different ways of marketing and advertising your business. Here we're going to cover ways which do and do not produce results. Whether you have an online business or a regular brick and mortar business, we will cover advertising for both. I don't know about you but the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of advertising is TV and radio commercials. I have seen and heard both TV and radio ads promoting all sorts of different types of businesses, both online and offline businesses can be promoted using this venue. However, if you do not have deep pockets you may find that this form of advertising is not feasible for your business. Another form of advertising is newspaper advertising. All many people overlook this form of advertising it can truly produce some amazing results. Is also much less expensive than TV or radio ads. You also have versatility on where to place your ads. For example if you have a larger budget you could place a five by seven ad somewhere throughout the newspaper. If you have a smaller budget you could simply place an ad in the classified section which is much less expensive. For online advertising, one of the best ways to advertise is through search engine marketing. This means if you have a website for your business, you need to properly optimize your site both on and off page, to get your website to appear on the first page of the search results. Or you could utilize pay per click marketing. This is where you place an ad in search engine results and it will appear on the right hand side of the search engine results page. One form of advertising which is a complete waste of time and effort are traffic exchanges. This is where you look at someone's website and they'd look at your website. The problem with this advertising is that no one really wants to see other people's websites. They are just there so that other people will see their website. The latest type of advertising, which is relatively new to the last few years is SMS mobile marketing. Somewhere along the line I'm sure you have heard or seen an ad which asks you to (text "big sale" to 876258) this is an example of mobile marketing. If you text the term to the number they will, in return, send a text message back to your cell phone telling you how to take advantage of the "big sale". This form of marketing is now being utilized by both online and offline businesses alike.
